Students of the leaders education have decided to conduct a marketing expo with the coordination of the management in order to explore marketing researches and business techniques. The aim of the programme was to improve the efficiency of students in marketing, sales and organising the event.
12/01/19(Saturday) we have conducted a meeting in which, we confirmed that marketing expo has to be conducted on 21/01/2019 from 2:00pm to 9:00pm at Payyambalam beach. In order to gain the permission of the venue we had approached DTPC. We grouped students into 6 teams, allocated 5 stalls to each team and selected a team leader from each team.
Next step of marketing expo was finding sponsors from Kannur and we were successful i9n this. Light and sound and stall arrangements were made by the students. Stalls allotted for all 6 groups included food, stationery items, dress materials, toys, bags and shoes, arts and horticulture. Stall number was allotted to each team. Expo sponsors advertisement to the public was given through notice, posters, backdrops, front gate etc… Most of the stall’s final arrangements were completed by 2’o. The expo was inaugurated by Asst. collector Mr. Arjun Pandyan IAS. He visited all the stalls and was attracted by the whole arrangements. There was a judging panel evaluating all the stalls based on different criteria like variety of stall, coordination between group members, uniformity, way of marketing, amount of sales, use of equipment’s etc… It was already announced that awards (1st and 2nd prize) will be given to the best 2 stalls as per the evaluation of judges. And the special award will be given to the best crowd puller for bringing maximum number of customer to the venue. Mrs Geethika. Was the master of ceremony… Overall participation from the general public was very good. Small gift was awarded for spot events which included singing, dancing etc… Final main event of the expo was the lucky draw. The first prize for lucky draw was LED TV, second prize was a Smartphone and 3rd prize was Tab respectively. The lucky draw coupons were drawn by children’s as announced. Team ruby won 1st prize for the best team category and the second prize was awarded to platinum. Awards were presented to the convener, joint-convener and the financial manager for organising the whole event successfully. The whole event winded up by 10 pm.
A grate support was extended from both students and the management which leads this event to a great success.
